from 93 'til Infinity (Jive, 1993)
There's a big dancehall on the floors below our studio, and when the classes get going in the afternoon, an unpredictable cavalcade of music comes through the walls. Right now they're inexplicably playing Souls of Mischief (warming up the soundsystem maybe). Hearing "93 'til Infinity" always brings back memories of when I was starting to DJ and dig for records all the time, and had a radio show on KUGS in Bellingham. The Flavor magazine (before I started working there) ran a feature on Souls of Mischief which I read on a Greyhound bus ride back to Seattle one weekend. Their first album is great and has stood the test of time (maybe more beat-wise than lyrically). Either way, a classic.
