In the ForestThe Smithsonian is in the process of putting 13 million photographs from all 19 of its museums online for public viewing. So far there are only 3000 up, but among them I found these Larry Fink photographs from his 1980 Seattle Arts Commission Photo Survey of loggers. I have been a fan of Fink's work for awhile but have mostly known him for his party photos and work for The New York Times Magazine. The Northwest context of these gives them a sort of Charles Peterson or Mary Ellen Mark in the woods feel.Click here to see a few more or here to do your own search on the Smithsonian's website.
